👶 Product Snapshot: Cub Care 🧸

Welcome to the next post in our series of Product Snapshots in the Australian healthtech sector.

Say hello to Cub Care.

In one sentence, describe your product?

Specialist online doctors for kids available after hours.

What industry challenge is Cub Care tackling?

How can we make urgent healthcare for children: more convenient, more supportive and of the highest quality?

Secondary benefits at a system level include hospital and emergency department presentation avoidance as many paediatric presentations are particularly well suited to observational medicine through telehealth.

In addition there is the provision of specialist services where traditional health services cannot reach. eg. rural and remote locations. In the short time we have been open we have had great uptake from families in non-metropolitan areas which may not have any paediatric services.

What makes Cub Care unique in the market?

It is Paediatric physician-led (Paediatric Emergency or General Paediatric physicians) and is easily available through a custom built, simple, secure and convenient web platform.

What is the biggest risk to your company?

As it is a new service offering to the Australian market (unlike say a GP service), it is hard to get a true understanding of the appetite from families for the product. Also there is huge education on the service required.

What does success look like for Cub Care?

Improving patient experience and outcomes by continuing to think differently about healthcare.

We would like to work with other members of the healthcare community such as GPs and emergency departments and become an integrated part of the paediatric healthcare system.

Why should a customer use Cub Care?

It is convenient, specialist-led care for your child after hours.
